Pellet therapy is the process of inserting a hormone pellet the size of a grain of rice under the skin as a method of delivering specific bioidentical hormones into the body. These bioidentical hormone pellets are natural, plant derived compounds. Once inserted, these pellets are then able to release a steady stream of hormones into the bloodstream.
The pellet insertion procedure is a simple, 5 minute in-office procedure done under local anesthesia. They are just placed under the skin of the upper buttocks. Because the pellets are completely biodegradabale, they will not leave any residue once they resolve.
They typically last between 4-6 months.
